Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

The practice of the ancient art of Chinese Medicine includes the vast world of Chinese herbs, acupuncture, Qi gong, Chinese philosophy, food therapies, colors and sounds. Chinese medicine has been time tested for thousands of years with a long history of wonderful healing results.

Practiced in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years, acupuncture is one of the key components of Chinese medicine. Long ago, the Chinese mapped out the energy system of the body and discovered pathways, called meridians, through which the energy of the body flows. Acupuncture is a way of tapping into and correcting this flow of energy in the body with the direct result of improving the function of organs and the healing of tissues. Acupuncture is commonly used, and is extremely effective, for the treatment of pain, as well as many other conditions. Your practitioner will determine based on the assessment of your symptoms, your tongue, and your pulse which points to use that will be most effective for you.

In Chinese medicine, as well as in Naturopathic medicine, health is achieved by maintaining or restoring a “balanced state” to the body; disease is due to an internal imbalance.
