Dr. Neall’s Bio

Dr. Neall graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR with a B.S. in Public Health (Health Promotion/Education and Community Health) with a minor in Nutrition Science. She then went on to receive her doctorate from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland. Following graduation, she completed an integrative medicine residency in Women’s Health at a women’s health clinic in Portland in conjunction with the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. This residency was the first of it’s kind – combining both conventional medical training with naturopathic specialty training.

As the owner of Natural Choices, Dr. Neall brings her love of medicine and healing to both her management of the clinic and her private practice. She believes whole-heartedly in the innate power of healing within each human being, and feels her primary goal with patients is to help uncover the obstacles to cure and provide education and guidance in the process to heal. Her work involves discovering, through discussion, history, examination, laboratory work and possibly other diagnostic procedures, the underlying cause of illness, discomfort, imbalance and/or disease. Dr. Neall looks at all aspects of illness – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – and all are taken into consideration in preparation of individual treatment recommendations.

Depending upon each person’s needs, Dr. Neall’s modalities of treatment could include but are not limited to, any of the following: botanical therapies, nutritional and/or diet counseling and support which may include any combination of vitamins, minerals or herbs, biotherapeutic drainage techniques, homeopathy, and hydrotherapy.

Dr. Neall also has trained with and provides the EAV (aka Vega)  food sensitivity test. See our link to this under “Services” to read more about it. It is a very effective tool and identifying foods that a person’s body does not deal with well, which can contribute to allergies, as well as overall depletion, imbalance, and poor health.

Her special interests in her general family practice are chronic disease, autoimmune disease, women’s health issues including hormone imbalances such as PMS and menopause, mood disorders, digestive difficulties and allergies. Recently, Dr. Neall has also taken a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of gluten sensitivity issues.

Many patients of all ages are part of Dr. Neall’s practice, as she treats a wide population including children as young as 3 months and elder-folk as mature as 85.

Dr. Neall also regularly provides lectures for New Seasons Market education series as well as other venues around Portland.

In her “spare” time, you might find her hanging out with her family, playing in the garden, taking her dog for long walks, reading a good book, cooking a great meal, hanging out with friends, or traveling to some wonderfully exotic and warm place!

Dr. Neall looks forward to meeting you and helping you discover the root cause of your illness or imbalance. Her goal will then be to teach and guide you to personally become involved as part of a team with her in order to achieve your optimal state of health and well-being.
