Parent Corner: Kids and Grief Support

Kids who suffer loss are often left feeling misunderstood and left out. It is hard for them to understand what is happening to their feelings and often 'act out' in their confusion. This is further complicated if the adults around them are also grieving and feeling challenged in their day-to-day lives. There are many resources for grieving families. We are blessed in Portland Oregon to have an internationally renown organization whose mission is to support grieving children and teens. If you know a family who could use such support please check out the Dougie Center. A lovely book for grieving kids is "AARVY AARDVARK" I admit, I still tear up when I read it!

You can buy this book on Powell's website. While you are there check-out the rest of the books on the Natural Choices Health Clinic bookshelf. We have selected our favorite books related to wellness, nutrition, and parenting.
